Back to running after two months off. I'm really motivated and that's a good start. Monday is the easy day but it felt like a tempo workout. I felt really tired and miserable. And now I'm sore...Not cool at all, but I know that in two weeks I'll feel better and faster!!!

1.5 + 5 + 3 miles for today! I feel way better!!! The 1.5 is the run home from the gym, the 5 miles is the new 8K race-course we're hosting in April. The 3 mile run included 200 pushups and 200 situps (40 each at each corner of the park). I would recommend this workout, it really builds character. I feel good, ate good food today and I'm ready for more running.

Only 1.5 miles today and I ran across the football field twice:) But I ate correctly and I didn't have  ice-cream. It was a good day, my runners are doing great and I'm really proud of them. Okay, gotta go to bed...

It's really hot today! Bad news all day long... The lupus walk is scheduled on the same day as the disabled kids' try-athlon hosted by our club. The bike portion has to be moved from a great park course to a horrible parking lot. We're expecting 100+ kids with different disabilities and now I have to let them down...

It looks like we'll have a new 1 mile race at the Pima Air and Space Museum! Great running between a bunch of historic airplanes and spacecrafts!

Lot of running again: 3.4 miles from lunch with the Mrs. to home, 1.6 from home to Mike's crib and 4.5 threshold with Blue Pants Racing (1 minute pickups every 2 minutes).

11 easy miles with Mike. I had to stop and walk for 10-15 minutes after 5 miles, but I felt okay. I'm really sore right now and I have to run 13 miles tomorrow. But I'm happy that I'm back after not running for two months!!! I feel good, I eat good, all I have to do is sleep more. Today was a great day, we went to pick out the food for the wedding. We had to pick from 7-8 fabulous dishes, one better than the other. Great food and a lots of it:). Okay, I have to go to bed!

8 miles at 7:15 pace. The course was really hilly but it was fun. We're getting ready for a half marathon on the 16th, our group will do the pacing. I felt good, the weather was nice and we had a big group again. After the run we went to Frank's. If any of you are in Tucson I'll take you out for a free breakfast to this outstanding establishment! Let me know:) Their motto is "Elegant Dining Elsewhere". Maybe we'll run 5 more miles with the dogs later...

2 dog-miles this morning. Today was Frank's first training day, he has to learn how to run with us. He did very nice, didn't pull too much but he had to stop and sniff every poop. Chloe did way better, she used to run a long time ago.

I felt really sore from the previous week so I didn't run with the group. A large group again! Today was a great day, the third person registered for our 8K. At this pace we might end up with more runners than staff:)

It's my second week coming back after 2-3 month off and I'll start training seriously next week. Okay, sleep well everyone!

2 dog-miles, 2 miles from a meeting to home. There is this dull pain in the middle of my right calf. It's not too painfull but my lower leg goes numb because of it. Any ideas? It feels like a deep muscle bruise. Maybe it's time to get new shoes.

I did walk 4 miles today and it was great!!! I saw so much cool stuff (old cars, nice houses, people, yard-art)! And all this on the same route I drive every day. Too bad it's getting too hot for walking.

Today is the first day that I'm not on the new to the blog list. I'm a veteran blogger:) I ran 6 miles today but my lower legs were really sore and tight. I think I'm too old to keep training in racing flats. I have to suck it up and by heavier shoes. But I least I eat okay and sleep more. Last night we were at a track-meet and it was great to see a bunch of HS students running really fast. Okay, I have to go to bed, I hope tomorrow will be a better running day.

Only 3 miles today at Sabino Canyon. I felt really bad. lower leg pain, overall fatigue... Not a good day but I think it's because of the donuts, icecream and hotdogs from the day before. Nutrition makes a huge difference in my running so I have to be more carefull.

What a great day! We've paced the Arizona Distance Classic half marathon and it was the best time ever. I did the 2:00 group and I helped 10-12 folks finish under 2. They were really happy and it made us feel really good. Great running, no pain at all, maybe I should slow down and enjoy running again. Congratulations to the entire team and thank you for all their help. Without them, Blue Pants Racing wouldn't be so successful!

2 dog miles in the morning and 4.6 at night with the running group. Today was the first day that I felt great! No pain, good pace and I felt strong! Next week I'll start training for a real event. I'm saving money for a new running watch and I'll be able to actually time my runs. I lost my fancy Nike watch but at least I can buy a new one: I really want one of those square and flat ones. Good day today, we got a box of chocolate from the in-laws!!!

2.6 dog miles! Second week of dog-training, we're running a little more every week. They stopped pulling and finally running is fun:) 2.9 miles later with the BPR group. I'm really happy to see that the group is growing! Everyone is nice and friendly. Again , the Tuesday workout is 3 miles running and 200-200-200 pushup, situps and lunges. Not really a running workout but it builds character and strength.

Only 3 miles today but I had to have an easy day. 2 miles with the dogs and 1 mile before the track-workout. Still not feeling 100% okay, but it's better than before. Starting tomorrow I'll track my food as well. That will make me eat better. And I'll attach a picture every day.  I would suggest the same to all of you and we'll end up knowing each other better.

Today was my first real workout day since September. 5 miles around Reid Park, 2 minutes on, 2 minutes off. I felt great and fast. I still can't keep up with the faster guys but I'm not too far behind them.

We also decided to run a 2:37 marathon in December. As long as we train and race as a team it shouldn't be a problem.

Food: 6 biscuits, 2 eggs+1 porkchop, 2 custard filled donuts, 1 granola-bar and 1 Snapple (2500 cal). Not too good, huh?

I don't know how to attach a picture (as promissed) so I would appreciate a little help. Thanks!

No running today...It was a really busy day with lots of driving in the heat. Today was one of the worst days of my life: my barber moved to Durango and he won't be able to cut my hair ever again. After 7 years of magical hair-masterpieces I have to find somebody else. Doug was an outstanding cyclist and mountain-biker, an overall great guy... I told him I will change but he still left me. I will never be the same.

We went to a trackmeet at night and it was fun. Lots of teams from Utah.

Food: 1 biscuit, 8 small pancakes, 1 PB&J, #2 @ In'n'Out (animal style) and a side of onion-rings. (1700 cal)

No running at all, I only left the couch twice: at 3PM to get a burger from Fuddruckers and at 7PM to get a Ben and Jerry's Karamel Sutra icecream. We've watched 2 movies, the new episodes of the Batchelor, some MTV shows etc. And I took a nap. Lauren did an awesome job with our new furniture, sanded the kitchen table and chairs and repainted the whole thing. What a good day!!! Food: PB&J, burger/fries, cinamon-rolls and ice-cream.

Great running in the morning with the dogs. These runs evolved from land based water-skiing to actual running, so it counts as easy miles.

Hard gym workout, lots of abs and pull-ups.

4.7 easy miles with the BPR folks in the evening. Good day!!!

Food: bagel with an egg and turkey, chicked burrito for lunch (no cheese, no sour-cream), icecream, salmon with zuccini for dinner. Good start.

Today was a really hot day, I guess suumer is here. It should cool down by November again:) I ran home from the gym, ran almost 3 miles before the Tuesday workout and ran the actual workout with the BPR group. It was hot and I was really tired but I went fast and I did all my pushups. Food: egg/turkey bagel for breakfast, roasted eggpland for luch and leftover salmon and green-beans for dinner. Overall good day, I was asked to put on  a race for the FBI in Phoenix. Our new company is expanding, soon we'll have events all over the state:)

5 miles fartek with Mike: 4 minutes on, 2 minutes off. I was able to stay behind Michael for the first 4 miles but I fell apart right before the finish. Second faster workout after not running for a long time, maybe I shouldn't run fast at all. I feel good, I think I run faster because I've shaved my legs. It's getting really hot in Tucson, upper 80s all day long...The dog ate all the electrical parts of the A/C so it will be fun:)

No running tomorrow and a 5K race on Saturday, I hope I'll be able to break 20 mins.

Food: 9 medium size pancakes, 2 PB&J, 2 sports drinks and a bowl of cheese-fries after the workout. If I want to run a 2:37 marathon I should start eating better. 3rd day without icecream.

Our team drove down to Vail for a small 5k. The RD wasn't kidding when he said it's a low-key event: 2 waterjugs and a box of bananas! I really like small events, they feel really homey. I've done a few of the Rock'n'roll events, you are surrounded by 40,000 people but you still feel alone and lost. Anywho, our team did great, Mike finished second OA, a the ladies got 1st, 2nd and 3rd Female. I think the awesome coaching has to do something with it! And we recruited a new BPR member as well.

I went out for a short 8 mile run with Attila. At 6PM it's still really hot but we managed to run a 7:30 average. I'm really happy with it.

Food: 4 donuts, leftover pizza, 2 glasses of wine and 1 Snapple. Tomorrow is a roadtrip day, we're driving up to Phoenix to talk to the FBI folks about the race they want to put on.

No running today but I've got new shoes and I'll start training for the 2008 Tucson Marathon. We went to the Roadrunnersports store in Tempe and the Brooks Radius was on sale. I also had a $20 off coupon so I ended up with brand new shoes for $59. I've never had Brooks but I'm too old to train in racing flats so I had to buy something more cushioned. I've never had anything but Mizuno so this will be interesting. The meeting with the FBI went great, we'll have a XC race on November 8th in the greatest park in Phoenix. Kinda ironic to have a FBI sponsored race at the Native American Memorial Park... Well, more tomorrow.

Food: 2 egg omelette in the morning, 1 donut, coconut-fish with steamed spinach for lunch and a small cheese sandwich for dinner.

Today was my first day of training! New week, new shoes and everything looks great! It was a busy day. I ran 5 miles with Mike at a 7:05 pace. The plan is to run 5 miles every day (1 day off) and bump up the mileage every two weeks. So in two weeks I'll do 6 miles every day and in four weeks 7 every day. This is for 5 months followed by three month of serious speed workouts and long runs at race-pace. The goal is to run a 2:37 marathon! That's 15 minutes faster than my PR and I'm 6 years older as well...

My new Brooks Radius are really great but my pinky toes are all red and swollen after 5 miles. I hope I'll get used to them.

Food: french toast with 1 egg OM for breakfast, 2 cheese sandwiches for lunch and a #2 from Wendy's for dinner (frosty instead of soda) and 2 sport drinks. I keep drinking these Snapple vitamin waters because the puppy likes to play with the empty bottles. It keeps him busy for hours. Maybe I should put a treat inside to keep him even more excited!
